Is the KR1 from the 3g store compatable with Alltel? They clearly say "The Kyocera KR1 Requires an Activated Verizon or Sprint EVDO Card."

Alltel is still wanting $300 but they don't seem to have them.

Should I wait for the KR2? I only plan to use it in my home with 3 systems. I use a kyocera 650 card. I'm sick of moving it around.

Thanks
T

I am with Alltel and I got my KR1 from 3Gstore and it's been working fine for over a year now. You can't go wrong with 3Gstore.

The KR1 is a router and it doesn't care what carrier you use as long as you have a data card that is compatible with the router. You'll be fine with the card you have. It works fine with the KR1.

The reason 3Gstore states that "The Kyocera KR1 Requires an Activated Verizon or Sprint EVDO Card." is because you can't activate ANY card in the KR1 - it must be activated first in a laptop. They simply mention Verizon and Sprint because they are dealers for those two carriers and not for Alltel.

Good luck to ya! Very Happy

Thanks BigDave,

Yep, the KR1 will work great with AllTell's KPC650 (we have many customers using it without problems).

Also, if you have the new Kyocera KPC680 ExpressCard, the KR1 will also work, BUT you cannot use the expresscard adapter that Alltel includes, the one we carry does work. More info for KPC680 customers at:
