|
|
When I try to play Halo 3 with my friends I can't join their parties because my NAT settings are too strict. I searched around and found this on Microsoft's site: support.microsoft.com/kb/908874
which says that the following ports need to be available:
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
I'm using the KR1 router, can anyone explain what I need to do to ensure that these ports are open?

| I'd think this would be better off in the KR1 support forum since it has to do with configuring the KR1, but mods want it here. Hopefully the right people see it. |

I too am having trouble with this. I found a temporary solution, but I can't find out how to change the NAT settings from strict to open on the KR1 either. Experimenting a little with connecting a Linksys WRT54G to the KR1, I was able to get connected to Xbox Live. The NAT settings are now OPEN and I was able to play several games on Halo 3. The bonus of this is, if you are using a Verizon PC5750 Card in the KR1 - more than likely you can't get signal when the WiFi is turned on (because it interferes). This way you can separate the 2 from each other so they won't interfere. I know this defeats the purpose of having the WiFi built into the Kyocera KR1 router, but it should work for you as well. Good Luck... Ryan _________________ KR1 VZW PC5750

I am still using this setup and it works great. I play Halo 3 at least 3 times a week. It lags a little sometimes, but it works well 98% of the time. XBOX aside, I love it because I can also use this setup with my laptop WiFi and desktop NIC card at the same time, my wife likes this feature. The best part... 100% portable (assuming you have EVDO connectivity signal) |
