|
|
Hi,
I'm looking for the best phone to use in companion with a Nokia N800/N810 and/or laptop PC. I currently have a Sprint Sierra Wireless 595U and have been pleased with its performance. What EVDO rev A phones do people suggest? Does it even pay to get rev A at this point? What about data coverage carrier vs. carrier? Do most phones support Bluetooth 2.0?
I'm also interested in USB connections to phones. Any suggestions there?
Thanks! |

wow. you're trying to cover a lot of ground, in one post. good luck with that.
there are no Rev-A phones yet. closest is prolly the HTC6800 Mogul.
Most phones still do not have BT2.0 but mogul does.
Actually, a better solution for you is to stick your 595U in a CradlePoint CTR350 and get a tiny/portable hotspot your N810 can use.
In fact, if max portability is what you're after, watch for a new product review we'll have online in like... a day or two or less. |

Methinks the Mogul and Touch are the only two with BT2.0 and are RevA upgradeable.
It bugs me that phone makers still put out phones with BT1.1. BT2.0 has been out for quite a while now. It's as bad as if device makers would still be putting out USB1.x products, which is not the case. |

| If Bluetooth weren't a consideration -- if we were to use USB only -- what would be the best EVDO phone to consider? I've tried googling for benchmarks from people that have used them tethered, and have come up dry. |

| I still use the Samsung A900 but want to get something newer and want something similar to the A900 that can be tethered undetected. |
