|
|
Running the Sierra USB card which is all installed fine without drivber issues, etc. Fully patched Windows XP SP2, IE 7. Card working in Virginia with good coverage.
Browsing most websites is fine and the performance is impressive!
Certain sites lead to the browser not responding/sites not being available. This is reproduceable and is related to the Sprint connection only. Running the same sites on the Ethernet card or wireless presents no issues whatsoever.
Example:
Go to ebay.com and select say the Cars section.
From the selection tool on the lefthand side select Porche and then 930 and click the button to submit the search.
There will be a long delay and the site will time out and fail.
Try again and click Porche and then click the HYPERLINK for the 930 below (which displays what would be the same result set) and the page loads instantly.
This is one example of the problem, it seems drilling down in sites or something with form submission is getting messed up ONLY on the Sprint connection.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
I would appreciate any advice, are there proxy servers to be changed/removed or anything like that affecting web browsing?
Regards

I'm also experiencing some issues. Sounds very similar to yours, and it all started last thursday. I had noticed some work being done at my tower but I don' tthink that was it.
I'm running the 595u on XP and it's all been fantastic for a long time. All of a sudden last thursday it started acting a little flaky, and I had to click on a link 3,4, or 5 times to get a page to load.
I'm running a continous ping right now, and every 5th to 6th ping, I get a request timeout from google. The rest of the pings that actually make it are in the low 100's and high 90's. This is getting frustrating. |

I've noticed this now since late last week.
Pings spike, upwards to 20k. I'm using some voicechat programs where I can see the latency, it'll sit at 200-400.. then just hit upwards of 20,000!
I used to get 2-3 bars and it was still a decent connection even for that.
Now it's very frustrating. I'm in Central KY, near frankfurt and I don't know what's going on.
We are barely on the edge of service (evdo rev a) but that doesn't usually make a solid connection go up and down it usually makes a disconnection and reconnect.
also when I ping websites like google or others, it's doing the same thing, 210,220,timeout,time, 150,300,130,timeout. |

Nothing odd to report latency wise over here in VA. However, my Rev A ping times are MUCH better than the ones posted here; I live 200-400 yards from coverage according to even the new maps and get mid-80's - 90's typically. There will always be the occasional oddball packet that goes awry but I have never seen one in 20,000 ms range and would have figured it would time out long before 20 seconds...
Zythan are you sure you're actually getting a Rev A connection? _________________ --Larry |

It seems like 1XRTT sometimes, but I watch it, I however over the connection and it's EVDO, rev a.
2-3 bars, I had 4 last night for a bit and it still spiked.
The account is in my wife's name, I lost the unlock/key activation. I'm going to call get that again and check into my HA.
The card is a pantech 500, was working excellent until last week. |

I changed my HA several times, checked my firmware. Couldn't get anything to help it. For some reason today it's working fantastic for me again. I don't know why it was happening though, and that would be nice to find out.
Anyone else having better luck with it today? |

I'm sorry I should have read the rules, I was just stuck with an end user problem and looking for help. I will get access to the machine next week post Holiday break so will workout how to get the HA, etc and repost here.
Thanks
