Alltel's national map shows Sprint EVDO in combo with their own. Sprint users can roam on Alltel EVDO (dark blue) and slower 1xRTT (light blue) at no charge.
Update: This map is old and missing a lot of new Sprint EVDO coverage. Also check... sprint.com/coverage
The state maps only show Alltel EVDO, not combined with Sprint...

Here is Verizon's EVDO map. EVDO in blue, slower 1xRTT in green.
Here's ATT's 3G map as of Jan 08

I wonder how much longer it'll be before Verizon and Sprint drop their differences on EVDO and have a total open policy for EVDO (unlimited Sprint+Alltel+Verizon, in other words).
I have a feeling it'll be a while...but I'm fairly confident to say it will happen, eventually. |

What is the address you used to get this national site? Also do you know the address for Arkansas maps on evdo coverage?
Thankyou.

Looks like the Alltel national map is old. Sprint has EVDO in Revo, NV, Duluth, MN and Fargo, ND but doesn't appear on the Alltel map. There are probably other places too.
So check the Sprint maps too. |

The map in 1st post has been updated. Major coverage now in the Dakotas, Michigan and much of the South, essentially the entire eastern seaboard. The map includes Sprint EVDO coverage but is missing quite a bit of new places, like central MO.
Sprint and Alltel have been really kicking EVDO coverage into high gear. I wonder if Verizon is making any efforts for roaming agreements with Alltel as Sprint has.
Sprint now claims to cover 230m population with EVDO including free roaming. |

| I also noticed the other day that the Sprint maps now include gray-shaded areas indicating mobile broadband and data roaming coverage. Sprint's map looks a little conservative though -- it doesn't appear to include some of Alltel's recent EvDO expansion in my area (e.g., South Boston/Halifax and up 501 a piece). |

| Curious. It doesn't show as much Alltel EVDO coverage in Sprint's roaming. There is a new PRL from Sprint. I wonder if the new PRL allows for the new areas, like the Dakotas. |

Wow, If true, then I maybe able to get some faster speeds in Findlay Ohio, if this is true and maybe I can try and hook up my laptop to my buddy's PS3 and do a little online gaming. |

Would be interesting to see if the latest Sprint PRL does indeed allow access to the newest Alltel areas.
Here's how to install the newest PRL manually...

If you are in an area where Sprint maps show no EVDO roaming but Alltel shows it has EVDO coverage, would be interesting to see if the latest PRL gives more access than the Sprint roaming shows. |

Sprint has updated the coverage maps and shows more areas like Columbia, MO, Alabama and long interstate stretches complete in some areas.
They've added some Alltel EVDO roaming but it doesn't seem even half way complete. IE, I'm pretty sure you can roam anywhere Alltel has EVDO, but the maps seem to show less than 1/3 what Alltel actually shows. IE, Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC shows no EVDO roaming but I'm pretty sure several have reported that they can roam on Alltel all over SC. Can anyone in SC confirm?
