| I have my PC5750 hooked up to the booster antenna. If I move either the KR1 or laptop without moving the booster antenna I can get a better signal as if the antenna on the 5750 is still being used. Why is this? Shouldn't the booster antenna be doing all of the work? |

Yes, plugging in an external antenna *should* disconnect the internal one. However, it may not disconnect it much or at all. My U720 only turns off the internal antenna by ~20 dB, not what you'd really call off.
You would expect the external antenna to work better than the internal but if it has a problem or there is a lot of cable loss it might. It seems that perfectly reasonable external antennas sometimes get sold with tens of feet of rg58 or worse coax and as a result don't always perform as you'd hope.
What signal levels do you see under the two conditions?
