|
|
I have an MB6800 with Verizon 595 rev A. EVDO and router working great if I connect to router with wired ethernet port (getting 1.3 or greater downloads 500+ uploads). Even if I plug my old wireless access point into a wired network port, this router screams (virtually no loss with 802.11a or g.
BUT, if I connect using the build-in Wi-fi, the data rates slow down to less than 100 Kbps. I've noticed that some wi-fi chips sets work better than other with this router. For example my compac latitude d600 is the worst (less than 100Kbps streaming (sling box). My toshiba altheros chip is not bad running at 600-800 Kbps, but still runs at only 2/3 of the speed of the same PC using my netgear or linksys wireless access point wired into the MB6800 Lan ports.
Any suggestions or links to good techincal documentation. TG site does not seem to have any decent technical references that I can find.
Thanks,
Mike |

Try updating the firmware, perhaps it will help. _________________ José |

|

Mine was shipped with version 1.24-1; I later updated to 1.26-1 and recently to 1.3-1, which added GPS capability (though not for my EX720 card).
When I first updated, the frequent EVDO disconnection problem was greatly diminished, and perhaps there have been improvements in the WiFi section as well.
However, I'm not sure because I must admit that most of my connections are wired on account of my apartment building's steel and concrete construction, which is no good for WiFi coverage. I do use an external D-Link 7dBi booster antenna instead of the stock one for WiFi, and for the simple WiFi devices I use (network cameras) I have no problems.
To access the firmware update you must supply your router's serial number in the Top Global support page. Good luck. _________________ José |
