I live in a rural are and have currently have EVDO service. I am looking to improve my signal. Currently the setup is a Verizon PC5750 in a linksys router inside the house. I currently get between -95 and-99 signal with around 450 down and around 200 up with ping times between 85-110ms. Only problem is I dop in and out of EVDO some times.

I am looking to increase signal strength and possibly speed. Is the OMNI the better choice for this or can I get away with a booter antenna. I am looking to purchase these from 3g store and understand they have a 15 day return policy but just wondering if I am wasting my time and theirs by going with a booster antenna.

Thanks for any suggestions or opinions

Well I never did get the Booter to do any testing but I did select the Omni antenna based on things I had read here and other forums. So to break it down.

Signal with No Antenna in the House
-101 to -107 signal
250-300 down
100-150 up

Omni Connected in the House
-88 to -93 signal
900-1.1mb down
200-325 up

As you can see this was a significant increase in download, upload and signal. I look to move the Omni outside this weekend once I get my mounting solution situated.

To give you an idea i am in a heavy population of trees. I have a 3 acre lot and my house sits almost in the middle and I only have about an acre if that cleared. So there are lots of trees and forestry around.

happy to hear the results were as good as they were, even in the house.

mounted outside, you should see even better signal, and while you may not see much better speeds, they should become more consistent/reliable.
