I decided to try Sprint Mobile Broadband since I seemed to be in a fairly good area for EVDO RevA coverage according to the maps. There are no other comparable broadband options in my part of this sparsely populated county. I picked up a 595U but felt uneasy about not being behind a router. I placed an order at the 3G Store for a CTR350 on a Saturday. I would've had it on Tuesday had I been home to greet the Fedex guy. It worked immediately. The new firmware allows me to connect the CTR350 to my Linksys WRT54G and run a hard wired connection to the main PC and more importantly, HER computer too Wink

I couldn't be more pleased with the performance. The odd thing is that my signal at best is -84 dbm but my download has been measured as high as 1400 ( average about 1340) down and over 500 up on speedtest.net using either the Chicago or Lexington locations.

I hope I'm still as happy when the leaves come out and they begin to block my signal.

OK, I finally took the plunge and ordered my 350 on Friday - I am highly anticipating its arrival as we are going on a weekend trip next Friday and we want to be able to hit the net using both our laptops.

I will post once I get the device.

One thing though, the 3Gstore reps must not have setup our username (=email address) so we cannot logon to check our status. Also, no email from the store w/ the FedEx ground tracking #. I jus hope it got mailed out Friday as the rep promised - I ordered within 1/2 hr of the daily pickup deadline (with an est arrival date of 4 business days , it will make it here just in neck of time, on Thursday (one day before we leave for our trip).

all of what you describe happens automatically.
your order was input at 329pm, and the fedex label was generated with tracking info emailed on 355pm.

of course, whether you get the email or can even log in, depends on if whoever took your order, got your email address right upon entry.

if the email address you have on file for evdoforums is your correct address, then the email address on file at 3gstore is missing a 'w'

let me know for sure, and i'll make the changes.

fyi, eta for package according to tracking is Feb. 7th

Just wrapping up our weekend getaway w/ the family - this is the first time we traveled with more than one laptop. My son and daughter just discovered the game sites (cartoonnetwork.com,playhousedisney.com, etc.) and since last summer, it became very obvious having one laptop on a trip was NOT enough, esp w/ dad (me) being an internet nut (I can post with the best of them)!

Using hotel free wifi's are not an option (unreliable speeds, constant firewall hits, etc.) - so triple thumbs up for CTR350, Sprint USB U727 (and 4AA battery setup if needed) !!! This techie stuff just keeps getting better!
