| I was just wondering if anyone knew if/when Dlink's EVDO Router would have a firmware version that supports any relativily new EVDO Cards. I recently went to BestBuy and bought the only Mobile Router they had (DIR-450), and I now know it doesn't support any cards I can go buy. Now that I am educated on the products, I know that DLink sucks at making mobile routers, but BestBuy won't take it back, and so I was wondering if my router will ever serve a purpose. |

I bought the same router a few months back, and had to upgrade the router's firmware to version 1.02 to support my Pantech PX-500 aircard. You can go directly to dlink's site to get the f/w zip file.
BTW, do exactly what the instructions say when updating the router!

Dlink DIR-450 is the same as the Kyocera KR1 router. Mine works great updated the firmware to 1010. I have an external antenna for the PC5750 Alltel card which reaches 1600K EVDO in a very fringe area. I also have an external antenna for the WIFI section so that the rest of these computers can go on line thru this router.
Both wireless systems work very well together which is not what a few other users have experienced. I don't have to shut off my WIFI to keep a EVDO connection. EVERYTHING works perfectly together.

I should add that the Pantech PX500 card is the same as the UTStarcom PC5750.
