PC5220 Strange behavior on a Mac Powerbook

Hi Michael-
I have a Mac PowerBook running Tiger (all current updates), and I bought my 5220 card direct from Verizon (the tech at the store in Tucson actually knew about Macs and was helpful) but I still wish I had bought from you. When I wanted a booster antenna, I did get it from you.

What I've got is less a problem than a puzzle. Question

My card (a replacement from Verizon after much bitching) is a P8 hardware version (PC5230 PP1.0) which seems to work very well except for one thing: the dropdown menu only shows 1xRTT no matter what service I am connected to. My older card (now replaced) used to show which service I was connected to. Any thoughts on why this happens? Also, the connection log is always empty, wether or not I have it turned on. Any thoughts on that one?

As I said, it's a puzzle, not a problem, since I can connect OK and get EVDO when it's available. Would the new Verizon software be of any use to me with a 5220 card?

Try these things:

- Update the PRL
- Rebuild the kextcache
- Last step: reinstall Tiger

Also make sure the card is a P8A (search on EVDOforums for article that explains how to tell, you cannot tell from the About box).
