I work for a city in Northeast OH with computers in our police cars for mobile data access. The cards work pretty well and we receive Rev A speeds around 1M down. Anyway, I have been working with software vendor to create an application using the S720 GPS data to track the vehicles. Right now, we are in a beta version but it works really well with one exception. The Connection Manager has a feature in it that times out the GPS connection after about an hour. You get a pop up window that asks if you want to continue the connection. If no one sees the pop up, the connection drops. I've talked to customer service and an engineer for Sprint Nextel and so far no one can help me get around this. The GPS should auto start and stay connected all the time.

Is anyone else running into this issue and if so, do you know of any fixes out there? If I could get this fixed, I would be very happy with the GPS features.

Darin

I guess I would create a macro to automatically sense it and allow it to continue.

There is a fix to this in the not yet pushed out latest revision to Sprint Connection Manager. The version 3.10.014 was released from engineering on February 1, 2008 and has not been put on the network for auto updates as of yet. I have the file if you are interested. We have a Police Fleet of over 50 MDC's with AVL and it fixed the problem.

Let me know if you need help locating the file. Good luck
