Bottar or anyone with a CTR-350,
I read your post on CTR350 and was wondering if you could be more specific about the range indoors. I have just ordered a U727 from 3G and would like to setup a WIFI in our 2800sq ft ranch (full basement). Since the 350 doesn't have any antenna port, I would like to make sure I will have enough signal to go through a couple of walls/floor and outside to the deck, etc. Thanks _________________ John |

That may be stretch for the CTR, sounds like your trying to cover a large area.
I don't use mine at home, but I'm away from home right now in a two story place, so I'll do some quick testing. The house I'm in is around 1500 sq/ft and two stories.
Through 2 walls on the front porch about 55 ft. from the CTR inside -- still surfing, I'm even streaming The Daily show.
Across the street: This is about 80 ft. The CTR is inside the house two rooms away from the side of the house I'm at. I can surf and stream audio, video cuts out. The audio streams without problem.
Being upstairs with the CTR downstairs worked as well as being downstairs.
Of course it all depends on the layout and size of your house and even what your house is built out of, (metal studs for instance).
It does well for having an internal antenna and being so small.
I was initially surprised by the range when I first used it. So it just might work out for you.
Most of my use with the CTR is more of a road warrior profile. Airports, Bars, and coffee shops. One level open places. |

Thanks Bottar, I guess I will have to wait and get more feedback before I decide on the CTR-350. I wonder if there is such a thing as a repeater that would work with this router? Tks again[/quote] _________________ John |

| you could use a repeater, but the added expense makes the combo cost more than other evdo routers that have external wifi antenna. |

Alex, from what you have seen so far, do you think I would be able to coner a 2800 sq ft ranch with it? Basically, you are talking about a 50-75 ft range from approx middle of house where router would be located. I don't imagine the basement is an issue. _________________ John |
