My guess is they forgot about about us here in the deserts! Mine is doing the same thing here in Catalina, Az. I have been putting in Vista for two days so far and even after midnight it wants to dump me in the middle of downloads!
I can't get the air-card to load the program with Vista and this thing works great when I am not being dumped. I'm using a KPC-650 with a KR1 router, Have two computers Now running Vista but before I changed to Vista in this computer it was doing it but I had an out as I could stick the card in the slot and fire up alltel. Now, it won't load so I need some drivers but getting help from Smith-Micro isn't easy and I have the old prl code in the card,[40007].
I am going to them again and see if they can get the new prl in and the drivers for the vista! |

| I've seen other post mention this and I have experienced it myself. If you are downloading something that might be your problem... Try setting a speedlimit for whatever program you use to download. If i try to download a torrent file it disconnects within 5 minutes or if I use flashget and let it do it w/o a speed limit it does the same. Just an idea. |

Hi, OK, I had to go down to the alltel store and found out that the software for the KPC-650 will NOT work on Vista! You can geet a patch fix on Kyocera's site or from Alltel. I don't know about the KPC-680 or its software. The tech really didn't want to sale me the KPC-680 so there may be a problem in this area that they don't want to talk about! I'm lucky to have the Dell with both card slots! But I have a feeling there is a problem with the kpc680. There weeding out the 650 so they may not make a disc for the 650 anymore. The 680 is the new type A card and they acted like they didn't want to sale me one so ... I may not get the renew contract! If not I will be getting Sprint and will get it from 3g! i don't have any answers at all on why the disconnects?! Mine is still doing it from time to time..No Answers! Sorry!! |

| I also wanted to add too, that according to the Tier 3 Data Tech I spoke with, he said in areas they used to test Rev A in Alltel experienced many drops and that is why Alltel stopped testing Rev A until further developement. |

try this
Step 1:Click on the Windows “Start” button and select “Run”
> Type in “RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll”
Step 3: Enable the checkbox labeled "Display device components" located at the
bottom left of Window. After enabling this option you will see a “Kyocera CDMA
Wireless Modem” and a “Kyocera Control Port (COM x)”
Step 4:Highlight the "USB Root Hub" that controls the “Kyocera CDMA Wireless
Modem” and “Kyocera Control Port”, then click on “Properties”
Step 5: Click the "Power Management" tab on the "USB Root Hub Properties"
window. Uncheck the box labeled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to
save power". Click "OK" to apply changes
Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5, but highlight "Kyocera CDMA Wireless modem"
Step 7: Repeat steps 4 and 5, but highlight "Kyocera Control Port"
Step 8: Remove the PC card from the PCMCIA slot and reboot your laptop |
