Hello everyone, I´m looking for help, advice etc. I currently live, am from MT., in remote part of Panama. We have cell phone coverage from a company called Movistar. They offer cell phone modem internet service in Panama City with Sierra PC cards, not in my area, but tell me they can give me SPECIAL service if I take them the right modem that they can sync with. I need USB to use with my Apple iMac or notebook. The specs they told me I needed were 850mghz on GSM network. Can anyone tell me best modem to buy, options etc. where to buy, compatible with Mac, activation, anything helpful would be greatly appreciated. I have researched Novatel, Franklin and Sierra wireless and here and seems like new, not released, Sierra usb 881 aircard most likely, but need expert advice. I have to travel to get to internet cafe, but will respond ASAP. Thanks, MIKE

You can purchase a Sprint Blackberry 8830 World Edition, which is compatible with both CDMA and GSM. International data roaming rates are $0.16 per KB transfered.

The Blackberry 8830 can tether via USB cable, or you can connect wireless on your MacBook via bluetooth.

You can purchase a Blackberry 8830 World Edition phone at the 3Gstore .

Thank you, but I am looking ofr a USB modem that will work on my iMac. My friend with PC card modem gets 115kbps unlimited for $40 month. I couldn´t afford 16 cents a kbps , have too much catching up to do. It will be my only internet connection. Thanks again, any more info or ideas out there. MIKE
