My last posting kinda went off topic so I will try again to see if this will stay more in line with the questions I have.

I am about 3 -4 miles from the Sprint EVDO coverage area and about 12 miles or less from the tower. I always thought that towers covered more area. The area is mostly farm land and not too hilly.

I was advised that a $250 dollar budget wouldn't get me coverage. So, what kind of equipment would it take to make it happen? Is there something I can do to get some kind of baseline that would help in equipment recommendation? I don't have Sprint service of any kind yet.

Would the $289 signal amplifier and the free antenna included with a card purcgase do the trick? I can mount the antenna high on the house facing the tower and run the cable straight in to my office so the cable would only be 20 feet or so.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Lou

No, the free booster isn't likely to be what you'll need.

a high gain yagi, properly pointed in the direction of tower, and mounted at least as hgh as roof peak, is going to be a better choice.

3gstore should be selling and supporting yagi antennas by end of month.
