|
|
I just posted about problems I am having with a Dlink DIR-450 in the misc products forum and I was wondering if the Kyocera has any of the same issues since it is made for them by Dlink.
I need to be able to open some ports into the router so I can occassionally access a Nas or check a Network Camera. Has anyone been successful doing that with the KR1? |

| There should be no problem with that. Remember that Virtual Server settings supersede the individual firewall rules that you can write, so if the ports or applications you need are covered by the virtual server rules, use those instead of writing firewall rules. |

That sounds reassuring -- I think I will order a KR1.
Does the UPNP work reliably on the KR1 ?
On my pre DIR-450 router (a DI-624) I could just let UPNP open the ports for me for most of my hardware devices. When I turn it on with the DIR-450 all it seems to do is make the router unstable and the ports still don't get openend.. |

| I don't know of any reason why it shouldn't. I haven't tried that particular setup but I haven't heard of it being reported as an issue either. Order your KR1 from 3GStore or the Kyocera Wireless webstore; both have a return policy if it doesn't work for your particular application. |

| Yes, it works. I'm using it to avoid NAT problems I was having with an Xbox. |
