Hey,
I have a sierra 595 card, the usb modem from sprint. Under the connection manager, it says connected, but when I go to load a web page, it tells me that I am not connected. I am thinking it may be a problem with my firewall, or something that I have set up.
I am running windows vista with 2 gigs of ram. I am running mcafee for the anti virus program. Any suggestions, PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance. |

I'm having a similar problem when I can connect. Web pages won't load or take 6 months to.
9 times out of 10 when I try to connect I get an error message #678. There is no answer.
I've had the card about 10 weeks, I'm running windows 2000.
I plan on calling Sprint when I get home. Is there any information I can tell sprint to help resolve this issue?
I wish I had know about EDVO info before I bought my air card.
Thanks,
britt |

I Do too had the Same Issue when i first installed my Aircard 595U i went to my firewall and it wasnt allowing Sprint to connect, so i allowed it an viola it worked... But not at the speed they guarentee'd me. So after i did that i Noticed it was only connected to the Phone Dial Connection, and was saying it was not connected to the Wireless Network. Im thinking Someway the programs arent showing on Firewall's thus people arent loading pages. Rockthebass try your firewall.
The only problem i have is connecting to the Wireless Network Connection if anyone knows how i can fix this id appreciate it. |

Afternoon folks.
I activated my u595 modem yesterday, and right off the bat got the $678 no answer error, the sprint tech did something on their end, and I get past that. It said connected, but no pages would load. She had me remove the network conenction for 'Sprint PCS' in my network options, and we went though the install once more, and it all worked perfectly after that.
As for the wirless adapter it placed in my network conecetions, if you go into the sprint connection manager, under options, and while your dialup connection is off go into the sprint pcs options, and check the box that says enable NDIS (you may have to disable to dial connect check box above it first) the wireless network connection will come on, and connect to sprint that way.
I also noticed that if I turned on my wireless router while I was using the dialup conenction, the wireless sprint adapter would find it and conenct to it and all my other pc's could browse the web via that wireless conenction. My wireless router was a little slow, so I use the dialup conenction anyway and share the conenction if I need to through the gigbit wired card.
And the last thing I noticed was that I don't even need the connection manager software running to get on the web. I set the dial concention to dial on demand, and anytime it's not already on the net, it connects on it's own in about 5 seconds, and I'm up and surfing.
I have 0-1 signal bars on it as it is, and I maintain a 1.2-1.6 mb connection speed. Hoping to bring that up with a good external antenna. I am in the rev A network area too.
Hope that helps, I did check my firewall and that connection remains firewalled right now and it's still working fine. But for some reason, I don't think it all installs properly until it's activated and ready to run. We redid the install and it took off with no issues. |
