|
|
| On the sprint speed test the max i have gotten was a little over 1mbps. I don't really recall anyone with sprint service getting over 1200kbps dl, but is it even possible? Sure they say up to 3.1 mbps dl, but that is false from what I hear from reliable sources on this site. I think they said the max possible was around 1800 kbps for download at burst rates and I haven't heard of anything below 50 for latency. So whats your guys highest download speeds? |

I don't know where exactly you heard that, because there's plenty of people that can pull WELL over 1200 kbps (on towers with appropriate bandwidth). You didn't hear it from this site, that's for sure.
3.1 mbps is the "technical" limit for EVDO Rev A.
Personally, about the best I can do is 1270.

Id try and get a real reading now, but I have a feeling the weather in the Chicago HA is really hammpering my speed.
At about 6pm lastnight, my latency just went off the chart and my speeds have been horrible since |

| FWIW I have had over 2200 kbps but it depends on geographic location. On the towers I access 80% of the time I'm getting the mid 1200 kbps down, mid 400 up and 140 to 160 ms latency. |

What do you mean by towers with appropriate bandwidth? Like towers that don't have a lot ppl. hooked on it or towers that are more technologically advance? |

He's referring to the cell site's backhaul capacity. Some cell sites are provided with greater data capacity in communicating with the rest of the communications network and so are able to provide greater wireless downlink/uplink speeds.
