Most Alltel sites have a session reset period. It's actually 11 hours and 57 minutes. It doesn't matter what kind of router or card you have, if the site (or home agent?) is configured for this then you will be disconnected and reassigned a new IP address. The question then becomes does your router handle it gracefully or not? In my experience the Linksys does not and needs to be power cycled. The KR1 sometimes handles it. The Sonicwall TZ190 almost always handles it gracefully.

A quick clarification; if you have the OpenWRT 3g firmware on the Linksys, it will handle the disconnect gracefully, and reconnect you when it happens. If you aren't comfortable with an open firmware for the linksys, then skip it, because the Linksys firmware doesn't handle it well.

Also, is anyone else's experience with the 12 hour disconnect a bit inconsistent? Sometimes I'll disconnect sooner, but lately it will run a day or so before it disconnects and reconnects.
