I have a KR1, using a KPC650 card from Alltel with amp and external antenna.
Fine setup for my desktop and laptop with speeds around 900 (could be better I know but I just came from dail up!)
I also use the KR1 to connect to the internet through my PS3 and can access the net (web browser) just fine. However, I can't play any games online as it will not connect with the server (in this case, EA server). I have never been able to connect using the KR1 and it always tells me "Server is not available at this time"
Anyone seen this or can offer any fixes?
Thanks in advance and GREAT site! |

Sorry, can't help. I have the 20GB and am wired directly to my KR1. Love it that way...no connectivity concern.
No direct help. But indirectly, as I'm assuming you're using your PS3 via wireless (and that's just a guess, you didn't specify) I'd only suggest you try hardwiring to the KR1 from your PS3...try online gaming...see if its the KR1. |

I have a 360, not a PS3, but I will offer this: see if you can determine which ports the PS3 online service requires, then use port forwarding to send those ports to your PS3.
For example, Xbox live needs ports 3074 and 88 to be able to play a game. Otherwise, you'll be able to connect, browse the marketplace, and send/receive messages, but won't be able to connect to a "game" server.
You can activate port forwarding through the Virtual Server settings on the Advanced Tab. It may help to assign a static IP to your PS3 in order to ensure the settings stick after powering off.
Hope this helps. |
