We have Sprint's ear on this problem.
Please post what Home Agent you are using, date and time. If you don't know your home agent, just include the ip address you are assigned and it is easy to figure out the Home Agent.
The problem appears to be ByteMobile related, so disabling ByteMobile *may* help.
Letting Sprint know which HA and date and time it happens will help get it resolved.
The techs at 3Gstore are also working on a possible fix for our customers. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Our HA is MD area 7 for primary and Atlanta area 5 for secondary. (We are in NC 27312) and it happens all day on and off. |

I changed my HA from area 7 (ATL I thought) to area2 Saturday right after my last post and I haven't had but a couple of quick drops. I work from home this Fri, that'll be a good test, cisco vpn client is touchy.
Looks like area7 is toast!
Thanks again for the help.
How do we disable bytemobile? The topic mentioned using a proxy...in the browser? |

| Things have smoothed out here in Okeechobbe, FL and I can surf and email as much as I like without freezing. The two weeks was a bit of an annoyance however... |

I had the same problem last weekend visiting family.
Awesome signal, pings (ICMP) worked fine, DNS OK. But TCP ports were (80, 443) blocked.
Upper Marlboro. MD 20772
Traveled south 30 mins to
Bel Alton, MD 20611
Everything was fine, even at a much poorer signal strength
Merlin s720 card on Sprint, but I will say that I encountered the problem with the card directly in the laptop (no Linksys router) in Upper Marlboro. I did not try it with the router at that location. Both setups worked fine in La Plata. |

I think I'm running through Indiana HA
IP 68.29.248.3
Have been having spotty on/off since the first week of Jan. Actually got Sprint CS to give me a partial credit. Today and tonight it's happening again, with lack of access for just minutes at a time.
Is there info on tower work/upgrading? Sprint CS was unable to tell me anything about that.

After 8 days of working - port 80 is now blocked for me...I do not have the time or patience to talk to Sprint again (already spent about 3 hrs. on phone about 2 weeks back).
My IP 68.31.63.118
(Not sure of home agent) |

I've been having numerous problems recently (at least I think I have). I haven't thought that this was my problem, but I'm now starting to wonder if it is.
The HAs that I've been using are area 7: 68.28.241.76 and 68.28.241.77. I'm going to change my HA this evening and see how things go. |

.241 and .249 were my problem HA's as well (Area7).
When I changed mine on Jan 3rd then NO MORE PROBLEM. 12 days with perfect behavior. I would go back to my assigned HA but I see that the problem may still be there.
I assume after a month of no posts here.... Then maybe I could revert back. |

The only thing I found to be odd before I changed HAs, was that I couldn't get Micheal's suggestion for testing port 8080 to work. When I was being blocked, I went to http://209.242.15.88:8080, and got nothing. There's NO problem pinging any web sites from the command line, but I couldn't get anything in my browser to work (port 8080, port 80 nothing). I get the "Looking Up" status message, then I get the "Waiting for" status message, then nothing...
I've now changed my HA to .81.71 and .89.76. Things seem fine right now, but obviously, it'll take days before I have any idea if this has helped. |

Yeah, I was testing it last night (wednesday). Thanks for the link to the test page. I'll check that out if/when it happens again. Hopefully the change in HAs will help me out as it has some other folks.
FWIW, I did have some success using the 209.242.15.88:8080 address periodically throughout the day when I actually was successfully connected.
Edit:
One last thing Michael... I noticed this new article on the main evdoinfo page: http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2223/64/ Granted it appears to be relatively new, but is there any news on customer success rates? Also, if the fix continues to be successful, will it ever become available to those of us who did not purchase our EVDO device through the 3gstore? I purchased my CTR350 from the 3store, but not my modem. |

Over the last six months I've had occasional problems connecting. Sometimes I wouldn't have the flashing blue light on my Linksys router, other (less frequent) times I would......and I wouldn't be able to access the internet.
The next time this happens, how can I test whether its due to Port 80? The last time I had the problem I tried to ping the 3G site and that did not work, does that say anything? |

Well, after more then a week of having my HAs set to Kansas City, MO, I've only had ONE dropped connection. ...MUCH better then the Atlanta, GA and Relay, MD HAs where I was loosing my connection one to two times per DAY.
Oddly, however, the recent connection loss didn't seem to be a port 80 failure. Using the DOS prompt, I could ping all websites that I tried, but I could NOT visit the test.3gstore.com website (or any other website for that matter). I know the test.3gstore.com site was active at the time though, because I had access to a separate internet connection at the time of the failure, and I was able to visit the test site via that connection with no problems.
It seemed almost like I was assigned an invalid IP address. Every time I reset the router, I kept getting the same IP address and nothing worked. Eventually, I was reassigned a different IP address, and all was fine. I don't know if there's a connection between the two, but it sure seemed odd.
Whatever the case, I can handle the inconvenience once a week (if it continues). Loosing connections everyday was getting to be extremely frustrating. |

FWIW I am able to access both sites at test.3gstore.com.
My IP is 70.12.202.8 and the HA's are set to area 2. |
