Hi,

I recently posted about reaching the stronger EVDO signal about 50+ feet from my house. Someone pointed me to ultra low loss extension cable, which looks like a potential solution.

Besides the Wilson "ultra low loss cable", I found quite a few ebay listings for "LMR-400" cable. This appears to be the same kind of stuff -- maybe loss is a tad higher, but I could live with that.

The specs seem correct (50 ohm, up to 2500Mhz), but can anyone confirm that this cable will work for Verizon EVDO. I'll be connecting it to a Wilson trucker antenna and a USB720. Obviously, assuming proper connectors.

thanks!

As far as compatibility goes, 50 ohm coax is 50 ohm coax. It should work fine. For that length (50 ft), at 800Mhz, you should lose about 2db + 1-2db for the connectors.

Note the stuff Wison sells (Belden 9913 cable) and the LMR 400 have VERY similar properties. The LMR-400 has slightly less loss, and is much thicker.

I have my antenna for Sprint (1900Mhz) on a 15-ft run of LMR-400. It works very well.
