3Gstore participated in early tests of the RK1010 firmware for the KR1, weeks before it was released. Our internal testing indicated that the firmware allowed the Verizon AudioVox PC5750 to work well in the KR1, and to us that made perfect sense since the PC5750 is really the same Pantech PX500 card that Kyocera was testing on their end.

Prior to the official announcement and release of RK1010, we told Kyocera that since many Verizon customers have anxiously been awaiting a Rev-A PCMCIA card that would work with the KR1, they should announce the PC5750 as supported because its the same card as PX500.

Since the release of RK1010 we've sold MANY of the KR1 routers for use with PC5750, and most of those customers are happily using the combination without any issue.

In the months that have passed since RK1010 has been available, something in the hardware of the KR1 or the PC5750 must have changed because we've had several recent customers have issues whenever the KR1's wifi is enabled. Turn off wifi, use a different wifi router connected to the KR1, or connect to the KR1 only via ethernet and everything is fine. But operate with a PC5750 and KR1 wifi enabled, and problems started happening.

As a result of these recent issues, 3Gstore will no longer sell the KR1 for use with the PC5750 unless the KR1's wifi is disabled.

If you are a 3Gstore customer who has bought a KR1 for use with PC5750 and are NOT having any issues... don't panic. We don't anticipate that the issue will happen to you in the future, if it hasn't already been giving you problems. We think that the issues we are seeing with a few customers, are only occuring because of some recent hardware difference.

If you want a router with wifi for the PC5750 we would suggest either the linksys or topglobal routers.
