USB EVDO Modem

We have one being delivered on Monday and we will benchmark, test and compare against a few Sprint Connection Cards.

FYI, if you are interested, when we are taking orders and/or have availability, send an email to:

usb@EVDOinfo.com

We will not answer email sent to that address and you will get one email from us, to announce pricing and when we are taking orders.

Again, we have to test it before we carry it, BUT we are excited about it.

I purchased my EVDO sprint account through you guys and then swapped up to a MacBook Pro. Can I get one of these USB modems and use the same phone number/account you got for me?

Still doing a bunch of testing on a variety of laptops (Mac & Windows).

I have a taken many pictures and screen shots and will be writing an article on EVDOinfo.com.

We are currently evaluating this products to possibly resell it. Before we pickup any product, we want to make sure that it works because if it doesn't our tech guys will be spending a lot of time on the phone.

There were some issues that we are getting resolved with Franklin.

I hope to have a LOT more information posted and announced this week.

Some of the recent pictures make the CDU-550 look VERY large. I was impressed with how small it was. To give you a perspective, here it is compared to a Novatel V640 ExpressCard and a Kyocera KPC650.

So whats the verdict Mike?

I spoke to my Sprint rep and incredibly
she read something about this new card.

She said it was cool that it was a USB card
but she said that they are going to market it
to business accounts first.

Then she send me this just 20 minutes ago over email.

I contacted Franklin and they said have them ready to go now. I like the evdo forum's site and prefer to get it through here. I think evdo forums performs an important service. So I'm gonna buy it here. I just wish it would be sooner rather than later.....like Wednesday? Smile

We don't just sell things here just to make a buck and sell them. We have to go through testing to make sure it "does what it is suppose to do". There have been other products in the past, (not the CDU-550) that we were excited about and after we got them, we were let down and it wasn't something we wanted to support and sell.

We are VERY excited about the Franklin CDU-550 USB Modem.

In order to sell and support a product, we have to get our sales people up to speed and our support people, so they can answer calls and be very knowledgeable.

Also, we have to create training material used internal and for our customers. We want to provide all the information when you get it, so you have the step by step on how to make things work. It isn't just about adding a product to our store and selling it.

With all that said.

We have been working day and night since we received our test unit 2 days ago.

We will be finishing up a very detailed review of the CDU-550 that we will publish on our web site. This isn't a 2 paragraph review, but rather a 9 page detailed look at this product. At the end of the article, will be a link to purchase directly from us.

We are hoping that all this can happen by the end of the day today Smile

Franklin is very excited to work with us and we are very excited to support them too.

Great news. As part of your review would be great to know if it performs just as well or better if using a USB extension cable. It's a little big to plug direct. Plus, it could be placed away from machine (possibly reduce laptop interference) or closer to a window.
