unable to install new sierra connection mgr update on 595U

I know that I've seen where people have successfully installed the new connection mgr software for the sprint 595U (version 1.00.0069.0), however, I've not had any luck.

I downloaded the exe file from the sprint site and have closed the old version and then tried installing the new version over the top of the old version and I've also tried uninstalling both versions and then installing the new version and regardless of which route I take, I end up getting a microsoft error when I try to start up the new version after the install.

For now, I've done a system restore and using the old version.

i have both versions installed on my dell inspiron 1300 running windows xp i can start either one i want works fine.
