The Inspiron 6000 will lock up solid when you insert the Novatel V620 card with both rev A00 and A01 motherboards.

Wow, this thread which was suppose to help others, helped me in a HUGE way today. A customer ordered the V620 earlier, we now have a field that asks "Model, Manuf, OS" you are planning to use.

Got a Dell Inspiron 6000 on the order for a Novatel V620.

Saw the reply here that this doesn't work. We had other replies too, read the link you included (thank you). Now, instead of wasting this customers time, we can say, Hey, there is a problem with that model. I called Verizon Tech support and they were useless. They told me the PC5740 had a 50-50% chance of working. I asked how they knew that since the card was so new. They told me to go on the internet to see what I could find about the other cards, and I asked what about the PC5220, which does work. He told me to go to ebay. We usually do not need to call Verizon Tech Support, I hope this isn't the norm.

The PC5220 is no longer available (well almost, one more shipment coming in). Explained everything to the customer. Since, the Sierra AirCard 580 and PC5220 are so close (voltage, hardware, etc.), he agreed to try the AirCard 580 (which is available).

We will post the results here next week on if the AC580 works with the Dell Inspiron 6000.
