| Does anyone know if the U727 is compatible with the KR1 like the U720 was? |

For those wondering if the U727 is smaller or bigger than CDU680:
i guess its both!
how big it is depends on which way you want to judge it.
while transported with cap on. its bigger/longer (takes more space).
with cap off and inserted into usb slot, it can stick out less.
but the CDU680 can swivel up and out of the way.
watch for a "First Impressions" article on EVDOinfo, soon. |

Does it say the avg/max power or current draw for the 727? The Franklin is quite low for average. Or so they claim.
BTW, if you guys really want to get into test lab mode, you could fairly easily test power draw on USB devices. It's very useful information as lower power draw means better laptop battery life.
To test, simply splice a USB extension cable and serially tap into the 5v line with a volt/current meter from radio shack. If the current is say 500ma, multiply by 5V for the watts, which would be 2.5 Watts. 250ma would mean 1.25 Watts. The Merlin/Sierra ExpressCards draw up to 3 watts max.
Would be great to know the power draw for a speedtest.net test, web browsing, file transfer, when idle, etc. - for all USB devices.
Of course if you'd like to send me all USB devices with active accounts, I'd be happy to test them for you. |
