Can anyone tell me if Alltel limits bandwidth? If the kids have been on the internet all day and I try to get on the net @ night, my connection seems to be slower but if no one has used the internet all day, I seem to have a faster connection.

Thanks,
Mark

I haven't seen this issue. My wife uses it all day long, and I haven't noticed any problems when I use it at night. One thing I would do is double check that you are on EVDO. I remember if your connection drops to 1xRTT it will have to go dormant for it to jump back up to EVDO.

Although, if I know I am going to do some gaming or know I am going to be on for awhile, I will disconnect and restart AxcessLink.

No bandwidth limitations at all. You are probably seeing evening congestion due to more people being at home putting a load on the towers/towers you are accessing.

What I have seen recently though is a major slowdown on my UL speeds. Hard to tell for me though since I have an older pc5740 card (PCMCIA Type 2) and no way to update the firmware or do PRL updates since I no longer have a laptop with a type 2 card slot. (Nor do I know anyone else who does) Therefore my issues could be due to that. Might have to break down and buy a new card. Very Happy

If there is any limitation in place, we have never been made aware of it. It's probably network congestion or something of that nature. Try reconnecting if the connection has been active for a while. Also try scanning for viruses, adware. spyware, and make sure you don't have any background programs running that might steal your connection speed. Also, make sure your phone or data card has the latest firmware, and the latest prl for your area.
