Great news for customers interested in signing up for EVDO service through Verizon Wireless!

Verizon Wireless has just recently changed their monthly pricing for their BroadBand Access service. New customers are no longer required to have a Verizon cellular/voice plan to qualify for their $59.99/month rate on a 2 year contract.

Previously, a new customer with no cellular plan who signed a 2 year contract for BroadBand Access with Verizon Wireless paid $79.99/month. Their newly introduced rate structure now matches that offered by Verizon’s main competitor - Sprint Mobile Broadband.

Of course, 3GStore.com is able to immediately offer Verizon’s revised monthly pricing to all new customers purchasing an EVDO card with a 2 year Verizon contract.

Click here to order Verizon BroadBandAccess at $59.99/mo on a two year contract.

I figured it wouldn't be long before they went that route. They already have a mark of enforcing a bandwidth cap, so being $20 more a month just made it worse!!

I just got off the phone with Verizon (6/20/2007 6:30am) and they were unaware of this new pricing.

Where is the source information for this pricing (hyperlink). I wasn't able to find it on the Verizon web site either. Are you sure this new pricing ($59.99) is for Rev-A service w/out the need for a Verizon cell phone?

Verizon told me they have $59.99 pricing for the slower NationalAccess plan without a cell phone account, but not for the Rev-A service.

Please confirm this information for us.

there was no press release. but there was internal memo we cannot publish. it doesnt surprise us that you would find a verizon employee who may be clueless... of course, you could just save yourself some money and buy from 3gstore, right? we can ensure you get $59.99/mo rate on a 2yr plan.

Not surprising...

Calling Verizon was your first mistake Smile If you need a card with service, give us a call, we can help.

Really, don't call Sprint or Verizon. Their sales people are just so poorly trained on these products. They have no clue what they are talking about. Unless you know what you want specifically you will end up with a mess that you will regret.

Buy from 3gstore.com, like I did on Monday for my replacement Rev A 720U on Sprint to replace my old V620 on Verizon (unlimited my butt). Alex gave me great advice on which modem to select based on real experience. I was concerned I might get a better price from Sprint via my employer corporate relationship, but 3Gstore is the same price with better service and they can set the phone up for corporate liability just like Sprint and Verizon can, except they probably get it right the first time, unlike Sprint and Verizon.

After 30 min of hold and off hold yesterday, they found the code to put in to change the price plan to 59. Just keep at them. They are no too familiar with the change yet. Tell them you saw it on vzw.com. It is in the plans section now.

That is great but still $10 more* than Sprint and I believe VZW still has the usage limit on their unlimited plans.

-D

*Not sure how easy it is for existing customers to get the lower pricing.

Lets keep this on topic, please.

Yes, there are different discounts available from different carriers, depending on lots of factors. However, this thread is a discussion about Verizon pricing now being $59.99 and matching Sprint's pricing.

I know you don't want to talk about the 'other' plans that you can't sell and it is your right to censor this forum as you own it but in the end those who are willing to face up to the reality of the market and give their customers all the knowledge and options they can will be the winner.

In the end, if this forum is not 'open' it will get the rep as being a shrill (sp?) for your business rather than a great place to share knowledge.

Oh, and since VZW did not match Sprint's pricing for new customer my post was on topic.

IMO.

1st-Deparson do you have a link to prove what you said? Only prices I see when I go on Sprint is $39 for 40 MB and $59 for unlimited, same as stated above.

2nd-An observation. If you haven't noticed, I'm pretty sure....no I'm positive that these guys sell VZW and Sprint. Their forums also break these and Alltel down equally in these forums. Why the hostility when they provide all this? You do realize this topic is posted in the VERIZON section, don't you? Hence the strong VZW presence in this topic.

One thing that I just noticed on Verizon's web site, there is no mention of the word "Unlimited" with this plan. Simply a "Monthly Access Charge" of $59.99 with the 5GB cap spelled out in the terms of service.

Any word on what this means for existing customers? Do we get the new rate or do we have to sign up for a new contract? I just hit the end of mine, but also got one from my company. I might keep my personal one if I don't have to go on a new contract.
