This thread will discuss compatibility between Sprint's new Sierra Wireless AirCard 597E Rev-A ExpressCard and the MacBook Pro

Sprint doesn't ship Mac software in the retail box, but there is a download from Sierra that offers Mac compatibility. We have found that this software can offer inconsistent results when doing the first time activation. For that reason, we encourage anyone ordering this card for Macs, to use our "Mac Pre-activation" service, so that we can activate & test your card AND add a CD with the appropriate Mac software.

Soon as we have a 597E in house for testing, we'll update this thread.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***

Currently, none of the Sierra cards are supported by the Apple built-in EVDO drivers , so you will not be able to use Apple's drivers with the 597E either, you will have to use the Sierra software. For some, this may be enough reason to want to use a Novatel EX720.

I just ordered this card from you. Will the GPS allow you to see where you are using Google Earth in real time? Will it work on a Mac? If not will it work in Boot Camp with Vista? Thanks.

I don't think the GPS feature is supported in OS X, but I'm sure it is supported in either XP or Vista.

We have confirmed that the Sierra Wireless 597E works in PowerBooks using the Novatel ExpressCard to PCMCIA Adapter.
