I have the PX500 EVDO card that I use it my laptop and the speed is fantastic. When I put the EVDO card in the KR1 my performance seems to be cut in half. Is this normal? I thought the speed would be the same, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks for any info... Scott

I have the same issue with the KR1, and my USB720 modem.

With the modem plugged into my laptop directly, it is blazingly fast. With it in the KR1, the speed is, at least, cut in half, maybe worse.

I just upgraded the firmware to 1010, so I don't know what to do to make it work better.

Try shutting off the wireless LAN that gave me some problems like disconnecting and reconnecting allot. I use a netgear wireless router plugged into the kr1 for wireless data this works much faster for me. Remember to keep the wireless router away from the kr1.

Have they solved the 500kbs barrier yet on the KR-1 when paired with a U-720? I have been out of the loop for a few months concerning this issue and have recently decided to go full Sprint EVDO internet service in my home. (IE dropping land based providor due to less then stellar service) With the U-720 and trucker antenna plugged directly into my computer at home I see an average of about 700 kbs down and 250 up. (will improve to the full rev-a when I install a dircectional antenna in the near future) I didnt get the Kr-1 earlier due to the 500kbs data barrier that I understand a "future" update would correct. Does anyone know where we stand on this issue as of today?

thanks

Dean

RK1010 provided full compatibility with the U720. Lots of users on this forum have already reported that it works correctly.

Yup. I'm one of those users. Since the release of RK1010 my U720 gets the very same speeds in the KR1 as it does without it. No difference whatsoever. Sprint has recently seen fit to take away Rev A for some reason but that has nothing to do with my U720 or KR1. Rev A has just disappeared from my SCM after months of having it. Go figure.

I'm curious as to what onaquest means by "the full rev a". You either get it or you don't. You might get a bit better signal with the directional antenna once you manage to get it properly tuned (as I understand that's no piece of cake either) but anything over 200kbps is proof positive that you're getting Rev A already. With a better signal you'll see better speeds but it may well not be significantly better than what you're getting now. Curious what your signal strength is with the trucker antenna onaquest ?
