Lots of people asking this question in various places.
This thread will maintain our official info about router compatibility with the 595U.

The Kyocera KR1 does NOT work with the 595U and judging from the fact that the KR1 still does not work with PC Card version (AC595), the KR1 is not likely to ever work with the 595 or 595U.

The TopGlobal MB6800 does work with the 595U but does not charge the internal battery, causing failed connection after about two hours.

Currently, the only way to use the 595U with an EVDO Router is a combination of the TopGlobal MB6800 and a powered USB hub. Read the following for more information:

http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2005/63/

If you don't like the idea of having to buy one more piece of equipment in addition to the router, and you are still within your 30-day trial period for the 595U, you may want to consider canceling that service and buying the Novatel u720 from us -- then we'll give you $35 off the compatible Kyocera KR1 router. (price after discount is $179.99)

Update: this is still a problem and neither SW or TG have any intention of fixing it.

Hopefully someone can test out how this travel router works with the 595u since the website says it works with it.

A remarkably uninformative web site, isn't it? How is the device powered?

Perhaps Cradlepoint is aiming at large business customers, not individual consumers. I hope someone at the 3gstore is looking at this device, as it's cheaper and seems more convenient than the current alternatives for the AC595U.

Does this router work with Canadian carriers such as Telus or Bell (provided the modem is already on the compatibility list: SW Aircard 595U)?

The Cradlepoint shouldn't be carrier dependent, and should have no issues with Telus.

The 595U is only available through Telus in Canada, but there's nothing different with the Telus 595U vs. the Sprint or Verizon models - aside from graphics.

fortissimo/Others:

How are your experiences in using this with the Telus 595U? I just picked one up last week and am now considering this router for my use.

I am interested in this thread also, since I have the 595u from Telus and just ordered a CTR350 from ebay. I contacted Cradle Point support about this and they said they don't currently support any Canadian providers, but hope to in the future and then they pointed me to this forum to see if anyone else has it working.

Once I get my CTR350 in a couple of weeks, I'll report back on what happened.

Comments from Cradlepoint, (I got their permission to post this)

This is from last week

We have not tested anything on that network and we do not keep reports of users personal tests. One place to check for that info that people post to
is evdoforums.com. Unfortunately we officially do not support any networks in Canada. We are looking to in the future support Canada but we have no set date for it. Keep watching our site for updates. If you have any more questions feel free to write back again.

and earlier today

Yes that is fine you can post what I wrote but just so you know the only
CradlePoint router that is legal to be sold in Canada and consequently the
only one that can be used legally according to the IC is the MBR.

We have the same interest in expanding our 595U from Telus. We are awaiting shipment of a CradlePoint MBR1000 EVDO Router.

We are in a remote location and use this as our main internet connection and want to share it between 3 users.
