Hi,
I just received my kr1 router in the mail today, and got it up and running fine. Shortly after it was going, there was a short period of time that the router cut out, and the internet wasn't accessible. In about 30 seconds or so it will be fine, but it is annoying when I am downloading a file, and it gets cut short. Other than that, things are great. Does anyone have a possible fix? Could the cut outs be due to signal loss? The router isn't in a very signal friendly place at the moment.
Thanks,
Ben |

| Could be a signal issue, but I doubt it. In my opinion the KR1 is crap, its just unreliable and crashes all the time. I believe it will take a few more firmware updates before they get it right. |

| does anyone recommend switching to the linksys? I got the kr1 from 3gstore, so how would I go about switching them if needed? |

b3n, send email to support@ 3gstore.com about your issue and if they can't resolve it, you can return and get a linksys.
what device are you using with kr1? what is RSSI/dBm when device is used on a computer (not signal in kr1). let them know in your email. |

| Well hre's a resounding vote of confidence for the KR1 using the new 1010 firmware and the Pantech 300 card. While in Key West, we got the system up and running, all laptops worked great with no drops. BUT I also brought along our "AE WiFi Internet Radio" and it found the network and ran nearly every station I wanted to listen to...all from an RV parked on the ocean. Great product. I just hope they can get the Sierra RevA card AirCard to work. |

| My KR1 router and Verizon USB720 just came in so when I get home from work I will test them out and post my results and any issues, which hopefully will be none, that I encounter. |

I've been using the KR1 with both the Alltel pc5740 and the Sprint U720 since November. (Mostly the Sprint card. Still under contract on the Alltel card so I keep it as a backup.) It stays connected 24/7 as my only means of internet connection. It has never given me ANY problems other than the long wait for the firmware update making it compatible with the U720. I travel with it in the southeast with no problems either. Made one trip up to Minneapolis a while back . . . . no problems on that trip either.
It never cuts out. . . . . well maybe 3 or 4 times in the past 7 months which was probably more network related than KR1 related . . . . . so just to give another opinion to counter bbennettfl's saying it is a piece of crap. I've been through 3 firmware upgrades too with no problems. So, for me the KR1 has been nothing short of rock solid. That's my experience anyway. I bought it through 3GStore here and it's been the best EVDO money I've spent yet. |

What are you doing, checking your yahoo email and browsing CNN? In that case the KR1 may appear fine. Push the KR1 at all and it croaks! |

Wow. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings disagreeing with you friend.
I've used it a tad more than that though. Due to my business we are quite heavy users pushing Sprint's unlimited allowance quite far on a regular basis but I don't intend to get into a peeing contest with you. You stated your opinion and I stated mine.
If I hurt your feelings I apologize.
I've NEVER had any problems with the KR1 and I am a little more than a casual user. Have a great evening!
Geez. |

You didn’t hurt my feelings, thanks though. I’m just saying under little load, one user browsing the web the KR1 is fine. Open a few programs, say SSH, a few remote desktops, and get a few wireless/LAN users connected to the KR1 and see what happens!
It’s not intermittent either, I can make that KR1 crash anytime I want and that is sad. |

Just for perspective, I got one of the new Top Global 6800 units.
I am a heavy user, several machines connected at once, large downloads while also surfing the web and using Citrix, and have yet to experience a crash or other problem once I figured out I could use a USB hub to power the AirCard. |
