|
|
In our initial testing, the Sierra AirCard 595U & 875U worked great with the Top Global MB6800.
However, after further testing, the battery in the 595U does not get charged when inserted into the MB6800. After 1-2 hours the battery in the 595U completely loses the charge and the connection drops. To make matters worse, the 595U no longer gets power.
We are not sure if this problem is with Top Global or Sierra.
As more information is available, it will be posted to this thread.
Also, we have reports of one person using a "powered USB hub" who successfully got around this issue. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Just tested a Belkin Powered USB Hub and it DOES change the Sierra AirCard 595U.
So, it appears the problem is with the MB6800 and the 595U.
The 595U is the only device with an onboard battery. The U720 & USB720 work fine, they don't have an onboard battery.
For those using the MB6800 and a 595U, you will need to get a powered USB hub in order to use it. Currently, this is your only option, since it is the only router that supports the 595U. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

So, I just hung up the phone with a customer who has a 595U asking about routers, and I tell him about our findings and he states in the manual, it says not to use a USB Hub. I look in the manual and sure enough it states:
| Quote: | Do not use the SprintMobile Broadband USB
modem in a USB hub or in a USB slot on a keyboard.) |
I am guessing, it states this because if it is NON-POWERED, the 595U wouldn't get enough power. With a powered USB hub, you don't have that issue (as our tests have shown). _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
