Wanted to provide a quick FYI about the compatibility of the Dlink DIR-450 and the Verizon Sierra Aircard 595. Dlink only claims support for the Sprint AC595 officially.
It did not work at first. Turns out I had to activate my Verizon AC 595 first on a laptop using the VZ Access Manager Software. Once I did that it worked using the Sprint AC595 option in the Dlink DIR-450 router.
User Name: (your phone number)@vzw3g.com
Password: vzw
Server: (leave blank)
Dial Number: #777
I can shut down the router and remove the card for mobile use and then put it back in and power up (connects automatically).
Configured wireless with WEP security and wired connections and everything appears to work as expected. I haven't done any speed test.
I will post updates if there is anything additional to report. |

I have the DIR-450 router and the SPRINT AC 595U also.
I was googling for some guidance as to what the username and PW is supposed to be to get the DIR-450 to connect to the internet through the AC 595. I noticed you provided what works with Verizon but I have to find that for Sprint. But anyways, how are you liking the final solution? |

I have tried all of this and my DIR-450 with AC 595 doesn't connect to the internet. I get a flash of red, then blue, then off on the card. Works fine in my laptop. The WWAN light on the DLINK is red. Any thoughts?

I got the same result as described below, namely: "I have tried all of this and my DIR-450 with AC 595 doesn't connect to the internet. I get a flash of red, then blue, then off on the card. Works fine in my laptop. The WWAN light on the DLINK is red."
As it happened when I originally ran the VZ Access Manager to configure the card I thought it was best to turn off the card before popping it out of the Cardbus slot so I chose 'Options'/'Power off WWAN Device'. Then I removed the card from my laptop and inserted it into the unpowered DI-450.
After upgrading the firmware in the router (I used 1.02) and selecting Sprint AC595 from the list of cards I ran into the red flash/blue flash/off sequence. I tried re-booting the router but that didn't help. I then put the card back into my laptop, ran VZ Access Manager and turned the card back on. I tested to make sure I could access the internet then popped the card out without turning the card off with the software (the little blue light was still on).
This time after installing the card and powering the router up I was able to connet to the internet. I went on to configure the WLAN interface and am sending you this message over the resulting connection.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

Funny, I had exaclty the opposite solution. I went in and did a power off and then installed the card in the router and it worked.
sorry it took so long to get back I am in London this week teaching a wireless class but my wife reports her laptop, my mother in law's laptop and my mac all connected fine. |

I really want to throw this POS out the window.
When I have the 595 in my laptop it works great for hours on end. In my router it works so so, then bang, no Internet. I web into the router via wireless and it says connected. I disconnect, reconnect, it works for 10 minutes, no Internet and red light.
unplug, plug in, Internet works for a couple of hours again.
anyone else see this behavior? Is there another router I should try? |

| I think you should swap it out for another one... I assume it's flashed with the latest firmware? |

| The solution is to lower the wireless signal strength. Start at the lowest setting and raise it until the disconnects start happening. The problem is the wireless 2.4 B/G network signal interferes with the 3G signal. I know it is stupid, and I wanted to throw the router out the window until I figured this out. Now it works great and it has not disconnected in months. |
