Hi!

Sorry about the subject but I am having a hell of a fun time.

About 2 weeks ago from the constant unplugging of my U720 the damn USB internal connector broke :/ all wiring and soldiering tricks didn't work Sad sob.... BUT i pay for the insurance damn it so ill use it... sweet..... left my broken U720 at my office (its a public facility) SNAG.... however..... ROFLZ FAILURE..... it was broken... and unless you are a really good device driver editor you fail.... (i say that because the internal of the U720 is actually a mini-pci card..... similar to the WiFi in my HP dv9200Z CTO but the 2 laptops i tried it wouldn't even power on with the little U720 Card inside.... sob and i thought id be the first to make it happen...... bah... back to the rest....) SOOO they tell me im getting a brand new one W00T NO REFERBS.... I get it and wow.....

I LOVE the new design (sprint logo-ing on top aside) BUT the vents below the card are like a heaven sent (i drilled holes in mine first thing....) so finally i get to use a card with no modifications needed Smile

Now on to the weird albeit fun part.... The new unit did NOT come with a Y cable... anyone know why? they eliminate it or find out it didn't help??? Well regardless i had the old one and i will continue to use it.... now for the KR1, finally 1010 supports the U720..... still my problem both with the U720 and the KR1 is when connection is lost (like when i try to upload at max speed about 2 min in the connection dies WTF lame....) still the only way to reconnect is to restart the KR1, but anyway...

KR1, Now when i plugged in my U720 to the KR1 i clocked about 900kbps down and 380kbps up and when it was connected to my pc i had a -66db sig so i know im close to a few towers so me not getting the 1800kbps that i used to get made me wonder.... SO!!! I opened my KR1 and did a mod siguested by me but carried out by the creater of the custom firmware on this board (will find his name and edit this post later) which supplies a 5v rail to the debug USB port on the back of the KR1 for that lovley Y cable and POOF........ no jkjk DING back at 1800kbps download and up to 498kbps upload (i don't think they can be sustained however for long periods of time... it never did on the old U720 either so no big surprise...)

I will try to post later today when i get off work some pic's of the job done........ also my trademark soldiering LOL I always get CAT5e and use the cables inside for my soldiering jobs...... this post is mainly for those who are interested in any mods possible.... i put it in the USB section as it details the new U720

blah laterz

Hmmm, I can get 2.53 Mb download with my KR1/u720 with no mods and signal varying between -75/-85.

I have stopped using the KR1 though because it needs to be rebooted 30 times a day... If you have a mod for that, then we're talking!

I have to be honest with you..... as long as im not pushing over 20 TCPIP connections or full upload..... I NEVER have to restart my KR1..... but then again I NEVER get 2.53Mb.... i wonder if thats due to the area im in (lots of sprint customers..... and prolly lots of EVDO users.... damn resource hogs...)

What are your settings on the KR1...?

I leave the KR1 at the defaults and connect a wrgt54g to it and double Nat.

You may be on to something with the 20 connections, as I notice it hangs if I play big team battles on halo2, large download streams, and if I use faster fox, which tweaks the amount of connections to sites. Hopefully they can fix that.

lol yeah,,,

im a pirate........ yarr... and if M$ reads this..... I OWN VALID VISTA AND XP so STFU... (i keep the lic keys in my wallet lolz.... i dont know why...) lol sorry i had to...

so when in bit torrent i have to limit my outbound connections to 20 otherwise the damn thing will drop the net connection (KR1 stays on but no matter the disconnect connect button in the status page the damn thing will only work if restarted.... GAY and LAME at the same time.....)

as for firefox I use downthemall with a 10 HTTP connection limit for downloads and it works wonders and no KR1 resets..... w00t....

EDIT:

also Defaults FTL.... er Defaults suck....... I NEVER use 192.168 address.... i normally use 20.2.202.20 as the routers addy and 20.2.202.40-60 for the DHCP.... and i disable everything else i don't use....
