KR1 & Wired Internet?

I'm giving my wired broadband wireless router to my father for father's day.

I want to purchase the KR1 in anticipation of buying the Sprint Wireless Broadband service, but don't currently have the service. Can I buy a KR1 and use it for wired broadband until I sign up with Sprint?

I have a USB Network Adapter. Would it be possible to connect the Cable modem to the USB adapter to the USB port on the KR1 and have it route the internet until I get the service?

no, the kr1 will not work the way you are thinking.

but the linksys evdo router will.

i use it at home with timewarner cable modem, and sprint/verizon evdo whenever cable goes out.
