After buying a Kyocera KPC 650, I don't have to search for wifi hotspots to check my emails on the road.

Wifi is a poor substitute for EVDO, particularly EVDO Rev. A.

WiFi makes you poor.

I got tired to pay a lot of money to connect in WiFi hotspots, or dial up using the phone line in hotel accomodations (some of them charge up to 150% in Brazil).
