If I have Sprint usb modem connected to my desktop and I also have a laptop that has built-in wireless capability can't I just set up a wireless network without a router and let my laptop search and connect to it? Or, do I have to use ICS Question

I just got a $10 laptop on eBay with broken screen that I'm going to use as a router... but for now I'm doing this right now with an S720 PCMCIA card. It works great! You do need to turn on ICS, and use it to share the S720 over wifi (you'd need USB wifi for your desktop). Just set the wifi to an adhoc network and match the settings on each computer.
