Many of you know that if you turn on Flight Mode, the internal radio is disable and this disables the EVDO network and phone, so that the batteries last longer.

Last week, I was on vacation at Niagara Falls. One of the days, were were going on a boat ride right under the falls, you kind of get wet. I decided to leave my XV6600 in the safe in the room. I have a Lion Battery, so I get 6-8 hours. I forgot to turn on flight mode.

Upon returning at the end of the day my XV6600 was completely drained and the backup battery too. After plugging in, the XV6600 does a restart and guess what, your XV6600 is back to factory settings, all data and applications are now erased.

Luckily, I always backup, so it wasn't a huge deal, but it is a pain.

So, for anyone traveling with the XV6600, turn on flight mode and turn off your PocketPC before putting away for the day!
