I need help..
I've been using Verizon EVdo for the past year and been using a laptop with a KYcrocero EVDo PC card.
I just got a dell XPS M1210 with the embeded evdo antenna and card. (it runs Vista Homie preium)
I got a question.. how would I go about activating the embeded EVDO card on the new laptop? (and how do I get the ESN number from the laptop?
I notice under the battery slot there's a slot for a SIM card. do I need that with Verizon? or that's just for sprint?
Your help is MOST APPRECIATED!
I just want to get the evdo up and running on the thing and see how it compares to my Kyccera with the Booster antenna. (so far I'm very happy with that) |

ohh never mind. I figured it out..
in case anyone is wordering how it's done.
1- get your ECN number by
a-goto in into the dell broadband support program and setting somewhere and it shows your ecn number and other info
b- or just unscrew the minicard cover on the bottom of the laptop. you should see the evdo mini card and the ecn number is there
2- goto the verizon wirelss web site your account. there should be a part that say change phone/equipment. just follow the steps to enter your ECN number and you're good to go.
it took me about 5 minutes to do the whole thing.. and I waited about 5 minutes after the process and tried connecting and it worked..
so I guess the simcard slot is for other carriers |

Hi geniv,
I was wondering if you are able to use 2 different WAN card for your Verizon wireless service. I am planning to get a laptop with build in WWAN card, but I would also like to keep using my other laptop with PCMCIA card in it. |
