|
|
Well I finally got sick of the constant stalled connection I had with that linksys and my card. (I have 2 linksys WRT54g3g-ST and both stall)
So I decided to try IPCop and see if it would work with the PX500.
SUCCESS!! It worked right out of the box wihtout any crazy configuration issues.
My only question, the speeds seem quite a bit slower than before. I have read the various posts about the usb-serial and cdc_acm patches, but it appears neither is loaded with IPCop (or they are kernel builds and not modules).
Has anyone else loaded IPCop, and if so did you have to manually do the patches? I actually saw somewhere that the IPCop kernel has the usb-serial patch already.
Thanks |

|

I'm looking for some help on the following combination.
I am trying to get IPCop working with a Sprint Novatel S720,
PCMCIA-to-PCI adapter, and an old Pentium 1 computer.
I've got IPCop 1.4.15 installed with the GREEN interface working.
The WAN will not connect.
During boot, I see the following errors.
cardmgr says unknown device elsa_cs
modprobe says Can't locate module serial_cb
I tried modprobe for the S720.
modprobe usbserial vendor=0x1410 product=0x1130
modprobe: Can't locate module usbserial
eth0 is running half duplex too. An Intel PRO/100
Also, what is the proper settings for Network->Connection
in IPCop?
Help, pointers, etc. appreciated.
TIA,

| I also have ipcop working with a verizon pc5750 card. it worked out of the box. i am also having trouble with speed. i get 800kbps down and 500kbps up according to speedtest.net in WINDOWS but i only get 400kbps down and !!50kbps!! up with ipcop. I have read almost all of the forum posts i can find and have posted here and at ipcops.com with no solution at the moment. I have found some info on the patches but no clear answer on how to impliment them with ipcop. I don't think there are too many of us trying to use this. if you find any solutions as to how to correct this please post it. |

Some have been surprised that the PX500 works with ipcop
right out of the box. The next version 1.4.17 is sposed
to have "3G usbserial modems support from web GUI".
