I went ahead and decided to try the Sprint mobile broadband service in search of something to replace my HughesNet. I am about 10 mile from the line shown on the sprint website where it shows rev-a coverage. Currently I get about 3 bars of signal on 1xRTT connection in my home.
My question is this:
Does it seem pheasable to get a booster and/or amp and perhaps obtain REV A connection?

The 10 miles isn't the issue, the question is what is your radio path to Lancaster or wherever the nearest/best tower is. I only looked briefly with Google Earth and have the wrong graphics driver loaded (Linux) so coouldn't easily figure out what the shot looks like to the SW.
If you truly have LOS to the tower (Mojave is hilly, I know) then I'd think you might have a good chance.
However, whatever the signal strength you probably do need to keep the total distance under about 19 miles to get things to work, depending upon the Pilot Increment set by the site.
If you can easily get to a locally high spot with clear view in the appropriate direction, try it with the card alone and see what happens.
