Hello,
Is the WRT54G3G-ST compatible with Verizon service and the AC-595? Also, is it possible to disable the Wi-Fi on the Linksys WRT54G3G-ST?
Thanks in advance!

The Linksys is not compatible with the Verizon AC595, see our compatibility matrix. Note that while Verizon cards work, the use of them is not supported by Sprint/Linksys.
Yes, Wi-Fi service can be disabled. |

I use my V620 Merlin card in this router with Verizon service. Other than Rev 0 only service I have seen no problems.
I regularly switch it in/out of the router with my S720 Sprint card as well. This router seems to support both just fine. I do not know about the other cards however.
There is a 50+% upload speed penalty you will pay with this router but that applies equally to both cards and services mentioned above. |

That has been reported when Sprint Rev A cards are used.
Are you experiencing a 50% upload speed reduction with your V620? So an upload max rate of approx 60kbps?
We have not experienced that with EVDO cards connecting at Rev 0. |

Yes. I have a wrt543G-ST with sprint S720 on Rev A AND a verizon service with V620 card on fringe of EVDO Rev O. I use a booster antenna with verizon to get around -95db. Have good solid -80db with sprint.
I also have a DLink DIR450 router.
Anyway, I drop ~55% upload using either card/service when in the Linksys router. I see about 20% upload drop in the Dlink??
My upload on verizon Rev O in PC is about 50K which drops to 22K in router (not such good signal strength). Anyway my Sprint RevA goes from 600K to 230K in router. Tested all sorts of towers in my area using an inverter and I think about 250K is max in that router regardless of signal but I did not test verizon sitting under their RevO tower.
I did send the captured data and screen shots to Linksys Techs. I am no expert and I really like the Linksys router but I do think it is something they should fix. |
