This thread will discuss the upcoming Treo 755p and if tethering via USB will be supported on Mac OS X. It is possible that BlueTooth tethering will be possible, BUT that will only be useful if BlueTooth 2.0 is included (which it is rumored to include).
Being able to tether the Treo 755p to a Mac could make this the killer device.
More info on the Treo 755p and Mac compatibility after it is released by Sprint on May 14, 2007. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

How is this any more of a killer device than the 700p which you can already tether to the Mac?
BTW, the 755p was announced today and it's only Bluetooth 1.2. Much more aggressively priced at $279 than the 700p was though. |

How would I get Bluetooth tethering set up with the 755p on my MacBook? What do I need to enter for account name and password (my Power vision account name/pw?), and what do I enter for "telephone number"? And do I use the "Sprint PCS Vision" modem script that seems to be included with Mac OS X, or is there a better/more specific Palm 755p script available somewhere?
I have a Treo 755p on Sprint Power vision, and yes, I do have the "Phone as Modem" option attached to my plan.
Thanks for the help. _________________ Who needs WiFi? |
