I recently just bought an antenna off of ebay to test to see if it'll actually do anything to my connection. I'm usually connected at 94-98dBm on 1XEvdo Rev-A. I was hoping to boost it up to higher numbers since I saw some better connections throughout the forum. I'm pretty new to the evdo technology since I just started using it in my trailer. I connected the antenna that I bought and the results were the opposite of what it claimed to do. The antenna worsened my connection bringing it down to 1 bar and goes up to 100+ dBm. I was wondering if maybe it was the antenna's fault or there is some sort of trick to positioning it. I played around with it moving it around to different spots but the modem by itself gets better results. Anyone have any suggestions or clues to help my connection speeds?
For your information I'm in a trailer on the outer skirts of the bay area but the Sprint coverage shows that this area has increased mobile broadband upload/download speeds. |

If it's the same antenna I bought on Ebay, it's crap. Did the same here. But it works good on a car roof while on the road! _________________ Nevermind... |

If it was designed to mount on a car roof, it likely needs a ground plane underneath it. _________________ Reach, Connect, Celebrate, Grow, Serve. |
