I have a Samsung i730 Verizon phone and I live in Huntersville NC. EVDO started working last night. It has been working mostly today and I went to the local Verizon store and they said "unofficially" that it will be announced as operational by the end of the week. It is supposed to cover a 50 mile radius of Charlotte. |

I noticed EVDO service last night also on my I730 Samsung. The service is much faster! This rocks! |

I was traveling around making account calls today and was able to get EVDO at about 2 to 3 bars in Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson and Mooresville along the main town roads. I was only able to get 1x in the Huntersville Business Park but most cell phones barely operate there at all. Verizon is the only provider that can receive a voice call inside our building in the Huntersville Business Park. Birkdale area in Huntersville gets very good EVDO reception. |

Discovering EVDO one day in an area that didn't have EVDO the day before is just like Christmas morning
The good news it will happen to more and more people each day as the rollout continutes. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| I was traveling south of Charlotte today and EVDO was working as far south as Rock Hill SC which is about 20-25 miles south of Charlotte. Didn't get a chance to do any speed tests. |

| I know all of the Verizon Techs here in Charlotte and they said it should work for a about a 60 mile radius from the center of downtown Charlotte. |

The speed test I did today was from downtown Charlotte at 700 N Tryon St.
I'm using the following:
Dell Latitude X300
XP Pro
KPC650 Aircard
Normal TCP/IP settings
I was all over town today and never lost the EVDO signal.
I just did a test with my Audivox 6600 and was getting 512 down 98 up in East Side of Huntersville. |
