PX-500 transmit and receive through external omni?

Howdy All,

I have a Pantech PX-500 and the omni antenna bought through 3gstore. With the omni antenna plugged in, does the PX-500 transmit and receive through the external antenna or just receive?

I seem to see better connection numbers with the external omni plugged up and the little antenna up that is built into the PX-500 than with the built-in antenna down.

The reason I want to know is because I am contemplating buying a PCI adapter for my PX-500 and putting it in a server I have. I am worried that the little built-in antenna won't get as much reception behind a server and thus would be a waste.
