Installationm problem

Hiya all

I am trying to install my Me815/usb to an Acer 5100.

The data link driver installs just fine. So does the other software.

The usb cable connected to the computer is recognized. Cell phone is powered on showing 4 bars.

Phone shows up in Phones/Modem and in Device Manager. Phone does not show up in Internet Connections.

When I try to logon, I get a modem not foud message.

I have restarted the computer as well as uninstalled are reinstalled the software.

Any and all ideas are appreciated. It is a HUGE hassle to get throug to Alltel's Data Group for help.

Hiya all

Just spoke with Alltel's Data Tech Support.

It seems that the DataLink software must be set up manually in ControlPanel > Internet Options > Connections tab. Username = phonenumber @ alltel.net, password = alltel, Connections PROPERTIES dialog, phone number = #777.

To use the datalink connection: Start> Connect to > Alltel (or whatever you names the usb option)

THis is quite different than my installation on an XP Pro system.
